Poltava University of Economics and Trade

The university trains specialists in the field of Finance, Accounting and Auditing, International Economics, Enterprise Economics, Management, Personnel Management, and Labor Economics, Information Technologies, Economic Cybernetics, Marketing, Commodity Research and Commerce, Organisation of Trade, Commodity Research and Expertise in Customs.

It is situated in the center of Poltava, the spiritual capital of Ukraine and one of the most environmentally-friendly cities of left-bank Ukraine. The university has a license to train specialists for foreign countries.

The university graduates occupy key positions in scientific understanding and addressing today’s market reformations, have the necessary knowledge and skills for the development of enterprise business activities and business based on modern local and international experience.

The university has a Sports Complex “Olympia” (gyms, sports rooms for fitness, a gymnasium for wrestling and boxing, football field with artificial turf).

High computer saturation of educational activities of the institution, wide introduction of computer technologies in educational, research, administrative, library, publishing, accounting and financial activities of the university has ensured its priority among higher educational establishments in Ukraine in terms of computerization of educational activities.

Language of Teaching

Programs are taught in English, Russian and Ukrainian languages. Some programs and courses are only taught in certain languages. Refer from the Degree programs section which courses are not taught in English.

Application / Enrollment Fees

$200 application or enrollment fee is required the university for your invitation letter to be sent.

Before getting visa student must have invitation letter. The cost of invitation for studies includes the cost of invitation for studies blank, visa support fee (paid in Ukraine), DHL courier service cost, taxes, banking commissions and constitutes $200.

Foundation/Preparatory School / Course / Program

This course is designed for international students who want to acquire communication skills necessary for effective integration into the Ukrainian education environment and society. These are essential if a student wants to be enrolled into any program in Ukraine.

Poltava University of Economics and Trade, offers Foundation courses in English and Russian languages. This is mostly at the request and needs of the student.

International students can study at one of 3 departments in the university:

Pre-Engineering

The Foundation program can be offered at any time for students throughout the year. The duration for the program is 10 months

To apply to our University international student sits upon arrival the oral interview (equal to the entrance exam).

 HOUSING

The Poltava University of Economics and Trade’s (PUET) student dormitories are intended for residence of non-resident and foreign students studying at the university, and of students from among orphans and children deprived of parental care in the case of absence of their other habitation.

The campus is a set of 9-storey dormitories № 1, 2, 3, and 4 with the territory on which they are located in Poltava, 3a, 5, Koval st. The Regulations of the PUET’s hostel were approved the Rector’s order, which determine the way of getting a dwelling place in the university’s dormitories, living conditions, and Internal Rules.

Accommodation, Living Costs

Students reside at hostels, situated on the territory of the campus. There are triple and quadruple rooms, having free access to Internet and e-library of the University, furniture, shower and kitchen premises.

The cost of living is – UAH 1215 per 1 month (around USD 43). Hostel fee is paid quarterly.

Expenses after arrival to Ukraine:

1. airport pickup and transfer to University – $200

2. hostel fee – $ 43 per 1 month (paid quarterly)

3. Deposit for hostel fee, Internet and Sim-card for cell phone – 135 USD

4. personal expenses, pocket money and food – around $ 150 per 1 month

5. Migration and registration fees – $300 (including residence permit and local registration, medical and administrative insurance, translations of documents.

 Visa and Invitation

For invitation an international candidate needs to have submitted copies of education documents, passport and legalized translation of all these documents during the application and admission process.

Tuition fees will be paid after getting visa and arrival to Ukraine.

Before getting invitation letter for visa, student must pay invitation letter fee of $200 during application. The cost of invitation for studies includes the cost of invitation for studies blank, visa support fee (paid in Ukraine), DHL courier service cost, taxes, banking commissions and constitutes $200.

Travel with Visa — If you are a non-EU citizen, you will need to obtain a visa at the Ukrainian embassy in your home country before your arrival in Ukraine. Once you have arrived in Ukraine, you will need to apply for your resident permit 15 days before your visa expires in order to prolong your stay.

Education Requirements for Student Visa

In order to study in Ukraine, you must have completed a secondary level education and be in possession of a leaving certificate that confirms that you are eligible to apply for university.

However, if you only have an equivalent qualification from your home country, you will need to have it legally recognized the appropriate institutions. This means certifying that your diploma is in accordance with the law of the country in which it was issued. 

Additionally, if you wish to be accepted for postgraduate studies in Ukraine, you will need to present an undergraduate diploma from a Ukrainian institution or an overseas equivalent.

Visa Requirements & Documents

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied their translation into Russian. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

In order to apply for a student visa in Ukraine, you will need to submit several documents. These documents include:

Invitation letter from the school

High school or secondary school certificate with transcript

Valid Passport

Medical certificate issued not earlier than 2 months before arrival in Ukraine

Birth certificate

Health Insurance (can be issued in Ukraine)

As soon as your visa is issued to you, inform the school about it. Once the school has been informed, you can now purchase your ticket to Ukraine.

It is important that you contact the school. When you contact the school, they will request your flight and ticket details. These will be used officials to meet you when you arrive. It is compulsory for school officials to meet students at the airport as this is a requirement of the State Border Control Service of Ukraine.

From this point, a person will be appointed to you to ensure that you cross the border safe and securely. The person will also be responsible for getting you to your place of accommodation.

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in Ukraine will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice. You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in Ukraine.
