Scholarship Award between 25% and 75% discount of Tuition fee. 

Dorms

There are 6 dorms available to students. Dorm 1 through to dorm 6.

These dorms can house a minimum of one student to a maximum of 4 students at a time. Each of these dorms come with a common area that has study and prayer rooms.

Each room contains a single bed, wardrobe, Desk and chair, Refrigerator and TV among others. Students in these dorms have access to 24-hour unlimited internet access.

There are also laundry rooms where students can do their laundry.

Language of Teaching

Majority of the courses are taught in good English. Some courses taught only in Turkish are marked on the degree programs or tuition fees tabs. Languages on the street are mainly English and Turkish.

Foundation/Preparatory School / Course / Program

Applicants who don’t have English proficiency results are given a simple (street conversation level) English test. Those who fail are given English course for one or two semesters before they start the main courses. Also, applicants who have deficiency course (not enough of the prerequisite courses) are also giving such courses before they start their main program.

Passport (personal information page)

Official document signifying successful completion of high school – diploma in many countries. Documents that are not in either English or Turkish, should be translated.

Official high school transcript, national or internationally recognized test results, or provisional results if is not available by the time of submission.

English language proficiency test results if available.

Statement of Motivation – You are expected to prepare an essay explaining why you would want to attend OzU and what your goals are. The essay you produce should not be longer than two (2) pages. The essay can be uploaded either as “Word” or “PDF” document.

Note: A strong Statement of Motivation will increase your chances of getting good scholarship opportunities.

Visa and Admission

For admission, an international candidate needs to have submitted copies of education documents, passport and legalized translation of all these documents during the application and admission process.

As foreigners would expect, it will also be required by the immigration department that travelers and international students have in their possession an Entry Visa before flying to Turkey, along with original invitation and original education documents.

The university will send an official invitation to study at the consular office of the Republic of Turkey at the place of residence of a foreign applicant (for visa countries) and a letter to inform the applicant (for visa-free countries).

Do You Need a Visa?

Travel without Visa — In order to study in Turkey, you will need to legalize your stay in the territory of the Turkey. If you are a citizen of Turkey or live in a country that can travel to Turkey without visa, then you can travel to Turkey without a visa. For more information and further clarification, please contact us.

Travel with Visa — If you are a non-Turkish citizen, you will need to obtain a visa at a Turkish consulate in your home country before your arrival in the country. Once you have arrived in Turkey, you will need to apply and obtain a residence permit before your visa expires in order to prolong your stay.

Education Requirements for Student Visa

Student visa to come study in Turkey is easy to obtain. You apply for a student visa from the closest Turkish embassy to you.

Once you have your admission letter

confirmation letter from university (proof of payment of first tuition fees)

and have provided documents requested by the embassy.

There is no reason to reject your student visa application. In all our dealings, our students have never been rejected visa. But we have heard of a few students (not our own) who were rejected because they didn’t get the documents needed. But when they reapplied, it was granted them.

Visa Requirements & Documents

Document language:

All documents executed in a foreign language (except English) shall be accompanied by their translation into English. Translation of all documents must be notarized.

In order to apply for a student visa to study in Turkey you will need to submit several documents. These documents include:

6 months validity on passport — An International Passport or travel document valid for at least 6 months after the expiry of your visa. N:B: Your passport must have at least two unused page for entry/departure visa endorsements.

Photocopy of passport (all pages)

Filled visa application form online or provided by the embassy (varies in each country)

A proof of the visa application fee payment (An original receipt).

A 29mm x 34mm, colored passport with white background (have at least two more copies just in case).

Admission and acceptance letter by the university (for student visa applicants).
A letter from your employer outlining the reason for your visit, who you will be meeting and details of any payment/expenses (for work visa applicants).
Letter of Invitation (for visitor visa applicants).
Travel Itinerary (for tourist visa applicants).

Payment receipts of school fees usually from bank (or email of transaction if you paid online)

Confirmation letter from the University acknowledging receipt of payment

Proof of basic education qualification, etc, diploma, certificate and SSCE (IGCSE/A LEVEL/WAEC/NECO) signed and approved by the ministry of education.

Guarantors letter signed by the sponsor and the student, stating that sponsor will cover all the expenses of the student and the student will never apply to any person or institution (including, university) for financial support or scholarship certified notary public.

A copy of certificate incorporation of the sponsor. (Only if student is using a company bank statement of account).

A copy of certificate of income tax clearance of sponsor. (Only if student is using a company bank statement of account).

Original approval reference letter from the bank branch manager.

Bank statement (maximum 3 months old) — Financial documents to provide that you can financially sustain yourself in Turkey. Yours or that of a close relative or from your sponsoring company or government.
These documents might include:– bank statements- proof of earnings or the financial document of a guardian in the Turkey that has sufficient resources to financially support you.

(for Private medical treatment visa applicants) Letter from a doctor or consultant in Turkey showing:
– Details of health condition
– Cost and duration of treatment
– Location of treatment (for Private medical treatment visa applicants).

Most of the documents cut across all the different types of Turkish Visas and some are peculiar to the visa type needed. Submitting fake documents result in an abrupt closure of the visa application, and seizing of the documents. Original documents are mandatory for your application.

Please get the most updated visa requirement and document list from the Turkish embassy website or office in the country you wish to apply for your visa in.

Health Insurance Requirement

International students who study in Turkey will need to obtain a doctor’s certificate confirming that they can freely undertake study in the field of their choice.

You will also need to be insured for the duration of your stay in North Cyprus; this is part of your tuition fees.

AFTER YOU APPLY:

The moment you click on the “Submit” button, the international office will receive your application for evaluation:

The International Office will contact you via e-mail, if any of your documents is missing. Evaluation of your application will only continue once all missing documents are provided.

Once your application is complete, it will be forwarded to the appropriate faculty admission committee for evaluation. This committee will decide on Acceptance-Rejection-Scholarship percentage.

You will be informed through email about your application. Please make it a point to check your email on a regular basis.

If you are accepted;

You will be given a student ID number and asked to make pre-payment of $1,000 USD into a given account. The details will be provided through your email, so please read the email carefully.

(The pre-payment is going to be deducted from the Fall semester tuition fees)

As soon as your pre-payment is received, you will be issued with a hard copy of your acceptance and Visa letters by post. (Please provide us with your accurate and current address during your application).

You can also send us proof of pre-payment through email to get the hard copy of your documents.

After you get your acceptance and Visa letters, you are required to deal with the student visa application process by yourself. Please do well to communicate with the consulate for visa application on time.

IMPORTANT: Kindly note that the pre-payment is non-refundable unless you receive the Visa rejection from the Turkish Embassy or Consulate in your area.
